Cleveland Housing Court Releases Changes in Operational Procedures Following Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic

The primary focus of Housing Court is to ensure that all citizens and employees’ health and safety are protected. To ensure the safety of the citizens and prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), criminal cases scheduled to appear before the personal docket of Judge W. Moná Scott between the dates of Monday, March 16, 2020 through Friday, April 3, 2020, are cancelled. All cancelled criminal cases will be rescheduled for three weeks from the original hearing date.

In regards to Housing Court civil hearings, only First Cause/Eviction hearings will be held as scheduled. All other civil matters are cancelled and will be rescheduled by separate order. “This policy concerning evictions is fluid and will continue to be monitored”, adds Judge W. Moná Scott.

The on-site walk-in Housing Clinic is suspended until further notice.
