11/06/2020 - Press Release
On Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Judge W. Moná Scott and Cleveland Housing Court will host its inaugural virtual landlord clinic dubbed “What Every Landlord Should Know.” The remote event will address relevant housing matters such as state and local landlord and tenant laws, navigating virtual hearings, City of Cleveland’s building, health, fire and safety codes, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Eviction Moratorium Order and more.
Attendees can anticipate hearing directly from Judge Scott on what to expect from Cleveland Housing Court. “It is my intent even during a pandemic to implement transparency and ensure that Cleveland Housing Court is a community court that continues to address the needs of the people, this virtual clinic is an example of just that,” said Judge Scott.
Housing Court experts will also discuss the City of Cleveland Lead Safe Ordinance just in time for National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week.
This landlord clinic may be required for landlords with pending cases before the court and has limited capacity. Interested attendees can register here. City of Cleveland and Village of Bratenahl landlords are encouraged to attend.
