02/25/2021 - Press Release
On Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Judge W. Moná Scott and Cleveland Housing Court will host a virtual landlord clinic to address Cleveland’s lead safe law.
The remote event will discuss the City of Cleveland’s newly enacted lead certification process. Any home built before 1978 is reasonably presumed to contain lead-based paint. Beginning in March, residential rental units built before 1978 must have a Lead Safe Certification from the City of Cleveland’s Department of Building and Housing.
Attendees can anticipate hearing directly from Judge Scott, City of Cleveland: Department of Building and Housing, Director Ayonna Blue Donald, CHN Housing Partners, Lead Services Director Matt Sattler and Environmental Health Watch’s, Tenant Landlord Liaison Tracie Washington.
Cleveland Housing Court will lead this virtual forum providing pertinent information to landlords, property managers, lawyers and the likes regarding the application process. “Lead poison is a serious concern of the Housing Court and we look forward to working with the respective organizations involved in this forum to ensure that property owners are well informed,” said Judge Scott.
City of Cleveland and Village of Bratenahl property owners are encouraged to attend. Space is limited. Register at leadsafecle.eventbrite.com or join us via Facebook Live @ClevelandHousingCourt.
